A decision on when to begin potty training for your toddler can be a tough one. It is even more difficult if the child is the first born and the parents have never put a toddler through potty training previously.
By doing research, parents may decide to use a potty seat or potty chair to help them with the potty training.

A potty seat is closer in looks and feel to an everyday toilet than the potty chair. This may work out easier to introduce to the little child as they will be able to compare the potty seat to the 'grown up' toilet and may feel a little like a grown up and more motivated to use the potty seat.
In its basic form, the potty seat is a smaller but padded toilet seat that is placed on top of the normal household toilet. As a bonus, the potty seats are on sale in many different colors and patterns so you should be able to find one that will appeal to your toddler.
A potty chair if a lot bulkier than a potty seat as it contains a base as well as a seat. This makes it slightly harder to store as it is much wider and thicker than the potty seat. With the slimmer potty seat, it is easier to place it next to the wall in your bathroom and you will hardly know it is there.
The downside to the potty seat is that as it needs to sit on top of a regular toilet, the toddler may find it hard to access the potty seat, especially if they try to use it on their own. On the other hand, because the potty chair is more like a mini toilet, it is self standing and is a lot lower to access.
The potty chair is also usually more stable than the potty seat when the young one need to sit. And sitting higher up on the potty seat will require more assistance from a grown up. As you can imagine, this task will be easier if performed on the potty chair.
And it may not seem like it at first, but all toddlers will eventually be fully potty trained. Some learn faster than others but they all pick it up in there own time with your help.
